Mini Plant Stand Build
by admin on Nov.22, 2009, under Woodworking
Mandy and I wanted a small plant stand for one of our plants in the house. I figured it would be a fun project to do this weekend and was able to knock it out, sans the final finishing coat. Here is a pictoral of my construction. I tried to remember to take as many pictures as possible, but got wrapped up as I moved through the project.

Initial Dust Collector Setup
by admin on Jul.18, 2008, under Woodworking
I have been wanting a central dust collection system for awhile, but had to wait until I had the cash flow to implement it.
These are the initial pictures with most of the PVC piping run. It is all schedule 40 PVC. While this is thicker than normally recommended, it had the best fit for the elbows and wyes that I could find.
These are the pictures:
And here is a quick video:
New Yankee Style Miter Bench
by admin on Apr.25, 2008, under Woodworking
My first major woodworking project was building out a miter bench inspired by The NewYankee Workshop. My workspace is nowhere near as large as Norm’s and therefore I had to scale it down and modify what I wanted to do with it. Here is the drawing I did of it in SketchUp.

The final Steel City tool that I purchased recently was a 13″ planer. This thing is AWESOME! I had no idea how nice it would be to have one of these.

Why this site?
by admin on Mar.28, 2008, under Woodworking
OK – I have tried the whole blog thing before and it got really boring. The problem was I rarely had things to say that were actually worth someone’s time to read. This actual post is barely worth your time to read, except if you want to get the jist of why I am actually even starting up a site again!
Anyway, here goes another site…
This one is dedicated to the two main things I regularly want to share with the world. My love of technology and my new found passion of woodworking. I don’t have too much on the technology front right now, but a lot on the woodworking. I’ll mainly be posting about that right now, but I am sure I’ll be mixing in some heavy tech stuff every once and awhle too!
